Cat Adoption Fees

The Drumheller & District Humane Society receives no government/city funding to operate. All adoption fees are directly used for the animals in our care.

Our fees cover the some of the costs of very basic vet care for our animals. The remainder and any additional vet care, food, toys, and other items required to care for these animals are covered by our fundraising efforts and the support of our generous community.

All our animals are examined by an RVT or DVM, receive age appropriate core vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, and spayed or neutered.

If you are interested in meeting any of our fabulous felines you can drop into our office Wednesday-Friday 4:00 PM-7:00 PM and Saturday 11:00 AM-4:00 PM, or you can email/phone/send a FB or Instagram message to ask questions about our current cats in care.

You are welcome to fill in an application in advance of meeting our cats, especially if you are travelling from out of town.

If after meeting our kitties, you are interested in adoption you will be asked to fill out an adoption application which will be reviewed by our Adoption Committee. Please note that submitting an application does not guarantee approval. The processing and approval of adoption applications requires a minimum of 24 hours before an animal will be released into the care of their adopters. Once your application is approved you will be required to sign an adoption contract. We do our very best to place animals in their forever homes so please review these forms so that you have a better understanding of what is expected of those who adopt our animals.
